Apple: How much do Mac OS X B&I Engineers earn?

My brother just graduated from UCSB as a Mechanical Engineer, and currently he is being scouted by Apple to come work for them. They wont' tell him his salary at the moment, but do any of you guys know what an approximate figure is?

The job position is: Mac OSX B&I engineer, and i dont' know what B&I stands for.
