Apple dual dual core xeon xserve ....

Looks like a nice enough low end server to me, nice that they added SAS support so you can finally put some decent disks in there.
Would like to play with one, see how it compares to ProLiant DL360's and 380.
 
n0cmonkey, Apple's security track record is pretty good. They have not had too bad a set of bugs, and they have responded to bugs with patches in a reasonable time frame. I'm not sure what more you can reasonably expect from a system with lots of features and lots of users using it.

From the stuff I've seen (out of the corner of my eye, I haven't paid too much attention) they have OLD bugs creeping around. Stuff other unix and unix-like vendors have fixed ages ago.

I also haven't seen any mention of decent memory protection techniques.

Apparently 10.4 was the first version that introduced decent password hashing.

As a note, I typed this on my Powerbook. Not my Mini or iBook. 😉
