Apples overall marketshare has declined, but their sales have still jumped over 60%....

Logical thought is not allowed. You must drink from the hatorade and denounce all things Apple.

Not a huge deal. There are plenty of other places you can pick up similar items if you so wish. It's just the shipping is usually longer, up to two weeks. Someone mentioned Dealextreme but there are a few other similar places.

And it is legal for Apple to ban those items or attempt to. The iPod/iPhone/iPad connector is a proprietary connector and requires a license.

right...if its Apple certified. But what if people don't care if its certified? How can Apple stop that???

Apple is on the crusade to sue all those who oppose them. That's how. Apple is going after online retailers and companies.

Which is lame. Let the customer decide what they want. They bought the damn device.

Warn the customer it will void there warranty or whatever if they buy an unlicensed product.

By authorized you mean the product costs a third again as much as it needs to because of the Apple tax?

Enjoy your overpriced shit, fanboy.

Again, I own an iPod and a Zune, the accessories are CHEAPER for my iPod. Should I pay more for Zune accessories because it's not Apple? I mean the Microsoft Tax is somehow magically better, even though the resulting products cost more? Just as long as Apple's not involved it's better right *siiigh* Has this ever been any different? NES games HAD to be certified by Nintendo, which I'm sure drove the price up. Tell me one company that recommends people buy cheap 3rd party knock off products? Mind you even with Apple cracking down on monoprice there are still a billion places you can get accessories.

If anything I'm a fan boy of quality products, I have a Zune HD so you can't honestly think I'm an Apple fan boy, if you do you have zero clue what fan boy actually means.

To be fair, the iPod accessories are much cheaper because there is much more competition in that market.

But the actual Apple accessories are cheaper than the MS ones. Apple doesn't price their accessories based off what the 3rd party ones cost. Their dock is still 3x the price of a cheap no name one on Amazon. 3rd party or not, MS shouldn't be excused for charging $60 for a deck with no cable to hook it to my TV, that's out fucking outrageous.

The nice thing with Monoprice is they test the items before they sell them on the site. Also the Warranty in case you do get a bad item. Which really can happen with any product from any place....

The real downside to this is what all items are considered 3rd party. Like car docks or FM transmitters & such. Really ridiculous.

I myself don't own any Apple products. I was considering getting an Ipod Touch....A friend of mine has one & a 2200mah External Battery backup for like $15 from Monoprice which works really well. The apps really intrigue me.

Even if the battery went out in a few Months he could get a replacement with the 1 year Warranty on it.

However....There's not much more to say on what Apple does....There policy is if you don't like what they do. Then don't buy there products.

I'm not saying MS pricing is better either. The 360 hard drive prices....

MS isn't a great point of reference for accessory pricing... just take a look at the Xbox 360 lol.

Maybe because Apple remembered that Monoprices stuff isn't cheap knockoffs. I can't imagine MP doing things illegally such as skirting licensing fees if they're required though.

Where are those 3rd party wireless controllers?

Oh thats right, Microsoft blocks those.

Unlike Apple, Microsoft blocks ALL 3rd party wireless controllers. There is no Made of xbox 360 wireless controller. They don't license it to anyone period.

only controller that is 3rd party are usb wired ones in which microsoft can't throw out we own some patent on it.

Oh the universal dock by apple is listed @ 49.99

the official zune hd sync dock that is the same as the universal dock, only usb cable, remote and dock itself amazon has it also listed with an msrp of 49.99
http://www.amazon.com/Zune-G9D-00001...0893574&sr=8-2

I really don't see where this Microsoft charging more for some that does the same. Only argument is that the universal dock works for well all the apple products except the ipad.

I don't get how the Xbox came into this. If Apple ever made a video game system, you'd only be able to use it on Apple approved tv's. It's the way they've been doing business since forever. They're one of the most closed, anti-consumer businesses out there.

Oh and just because you own certain other products doesn't mean you aren't a fanboi.

the Apply fanboys like to bring up the Xbox when Apple does something silly. "At least my iPhone doesn't RROD"

It gets old. Just ignore it.

Heh, the easiest counter to that is, 'at least my xbox 360 doesn't stop working just by touching it with my finger tip' :p

meanwhile a stereo to RCA cable costs 2$ and works with both ipods and zunes.

never really understood the point of a dock

im not very big on docking pmps either, but the one i got my son for his has really been worth it. hdmi to the tv, can listen to all the music and watch movies on my big tv and stereo, has rca out as well and comes with a remote. not having to get up to change stuff rocks. the power cord is a USB with a wall plug adapter, so i can plug it into either my computer, tv or xbox360 to charge. while im in my truck i just plug it into the aux jack with a 3.5mm cord. price was huge tho, but it was literally the only accessory for the zunes.

Glad I ordered a ton of cables and silicon iPad cases when I did. I love you Monoprice!

Edit: I see all the cables were removed. They were actually a really good deal.

I can tell you however, that the car charger and wall chargers that come up when you search on iPad do not actually work with ipads. I got burned on 6 items but I forgive you Monoprice. They were cheap anyways.

The other day, I found a box of hdmi cables in my closet. I was like "holy crap! When did I have the money for these?" then I remembered they came from Monoprice so they cost me 1/10th of what a hdmi cable would cost in a store.

You have to have a license to publish games for the Xbox/PS3.
You have to have a license to sell hot dogs on the street
You have to have a license to make Apple ixxx accessories.
You have to have a license to be a Taxi driver.

Or you can chose to not do those things if you don't want to get the license.

Monoprice posted this on there Facebook page:

"Sorry for the inconvenience caused by the removal of iPod/iPhone products from out site. We have been doing an in depth review of our business plan with regard to this particular category. It is our desire, not only to deliver the best value to our customers, but also the highest quality products. As part of the review, it was initially decided that the category would be removed while we reviewed some of the testing and certification processes of our factories. Since cases were the simplest items to verify, they have already be put back up. However, more complex items like cables and battery backups will take us a little longer to review. Again, we apologize for this inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

If you every need immediate assistance locating an item, please use the Tech Support Chat button on the top of our website. Techs can assist you from 7am to 7pm PST. "
