Apple A4 based on Cortex A9

According to Slashgear anyway, this is the first I've heard anything about A4 and while this certainly wouldn't be surprising, it would also be unsurprising if Slashgear is just speculating. Check it out.

Engadget had a commentary speculating the same thing. Its possible, I guess, since the iPad won't ship for another 2 months or so. Not sure how far the A9 was in development when it was announced at CES.

It is my understanding that the A9 is done with development and is simply waiting for a design based on it to go into mass production.
