Just wondering if anyone already has a 7800 GTX working with an Apple CinemaDisplay 30 inch. I plan to get both just need some reassurance.
Does the BIOS and DOS mode display properly?
Thanks in advance.

The eVGA 7800GTX KO works GREAT with Apple's 30". The guys at Hardocp have this setup and they are giving it a thumbs up. I'm not sure about it being able to display the POST screen though.

I am not sure why it would not post correctly. BIOS uses the default VGA standard and I see no reason why it would not display. Unless there is something extremely special about this screen besides its resolution and size :D

Monitors sold today and the last decade have to be able to display at 640 X 480 @ 60Hz, which is the default VGA standard. If this was not the case, troubleshooting would be made much more difficult when trying to diagnose a video problem.

I am asking about this because the previous models of Apple LCDs have this issue when working with a PC.
I already have the older 23 inch version, and it won't display POST screens on my BFG 6800 GT OC.
Besides this family of screens do have some special attributes, like a weird OSD and power control that only works if you have a Mac.

People talk about DVI issues with BIOS screen etc... I even seen a huge thread on it being "not able to", yet the day I got my 2005FPW I hooked it up to DVI and have had nothing but goodness. Maybe old BIOS or firmware is the cause...? I only have a 9800Pro with probably older software yet my DVI works for everything yet my analog (just trying, I knew DVI is pretty much superior) wouldn't seem to work right... ahha??!!

I got another question, since the screen is 2560x1600, would it make HDTV quality videos look distorted?

unoticeably, yes.

I see.
Would it make lower quality videos like MPEG-1 look really really screwed up?

Not unless you scale it to fit the entire screen. If you do, you will have crazy pixelation everywhere. It will look like a mess.

Actually that is what I was asking about.
It already looks like a mess on the 23".
