I always find myself nickle-and-diming these to not-so-attractive:
+$30 for Win7
+$35 for 6-cell battery
+$25 for Bluetooth

I might be off a few dollars on each price but you get the idea. I really want the new Mini 10 (Inspiron 1012) with the N450 and the 1366x768 higher-res screen, but I was about $700 for that plus the Mini 10v. Sigh. Once again, no sale 🙁

For that price, just get a notebook with a real processor - CULV is the way to go for thin, light, and great battery life with the usability of a "real" notebook.

I was able to do this for the regular Mini 10. Choose the 48 hour express pre-built machine and the deal defaults to the more expensive/better mini 10 instead of the 10v.

Nice find! Unfortunately I want 6 cell batteries, Win7, and the 1366x768 screen - and I can't see that one gets any of those on the 48-hour ship. If you're into minimal though, I think that's a better deal than the original!

Well, that was $700 for *TWO* netbooks - I think something like an Adamo would run me another few hundred...for just *one* notebook. That's a different purchase altogether - though I want one of those too 😀

well you can do it on all the laptops.

an inspiron 11z CULV + a 10v is $500.

its only $100 more for an 11z, and you still get a 10v with it for $149 and it doesnt have to be a 48 hour ship model

Poop, already have one. Not a fan of how sucky it is playing video as I bought it to act something like a portable video player.

the $149 was only for yesterday.

Dell definitely is playing games 🙁

The link I posted above used to say valid through 3/18, now says just limited time. The systems used to show the $149 price while configuring, now they don't. Sigh.

Richard

Dell just gave me back $25 on the two notebooks I ordered because they didn't have N but B/G.

So two mini 10's (not 10v) for about $210 each 😀. Not bad.
