Is this really that complicated? "The whole concept of deporting people over old felonies" is a limit on immigration. Then he says it's pandering to xenophobia.

Oh, please. While the statutes have remained unchanged for many years, strong enforcement only came about in the wave of pandering against immigrants sponsored by the Bushistas, particularly cases dating back many years.

It's part and parcel of their distractionary tactics in the wake of 9/11. Take FBI agents away from financial crimes, sic 'em on the terrarists! supposedly hiding under every bed, beef up ICE under DHS, rave on about illegal immigrants, exploit native anti-immigrant sentiment. Accuse 'em of voter fraud, too. That'll get the Mow-rons all riled up.

Furriners? Fuck 'em!

Their kids, American citizens? Fuck them too! Ship their working father off to whatever shithole he came from! Drag something out of his distant past, put the guy in jail for 3 years first, Fuck 'em all!

Merricuh! Hell Yeh!

Hopefully your post cleared up Woolfe's confusion. Sounds like you're definitely equating limits on immigration with xenophobia.
