appcompat.text error

when ever i play a game i get this error after about 30-45 minutes of play.

<gamename> has encountered an error and needs to close. sorry for the inconvience.

ive formatted, reinstalled, tried different drivers, and i drop kicked it once =)


whats happening and how do i fix it?

I did a Google search on 'appcompat.txt' and it seems to me it's a various type of problem, could be anything.

Possibilities? ripped from my searches.

your default user profile contains an incompatible program, in other words you have installed and are trying to run a program designed to run on dos or 9x and its screwing up your profile,your headed towards unbootability and should stop running this old program and take it off your system.

2)

i had the same problem. the file belongs to a media software, which is part of the kaza package. it's something like delfin media. uninstall this program, and you problem will be solved. Go to control panel, then add&remove, and then find this media and remove it.

These are just some of the many I found. I would also check 'Event Viewer' under 'Admin. Tools' in Control Panel. See if anything sticks out that is generating this error.

Check the Event Viewer and if you see something Google that with the 'appcompat.txt' and see what you can find.
