Apparently you get can quite a high from cough syrup

So he drank about 2 bottles of cough syrup in order to get some substance called "DXM". When he was telling me about it yesterday, he talked of seeing "a column of souls wrapped outside the universe, going into heaven" and other such things.

I guess he was quite high, because his roomate got so worried about my friend's babblings he called 911 and my friend had to spend the night at the hospital (though he was fine the next day).

yuck. cough syrup is gross, though Nyquil did something similar to me once. I took 4 nyquil caps in the morning (ment to grab dayquil) and was feeling quite.... bizarre. My mind didn't seem to think straight, couldn't concentrate on anything and I was having some weird stuff that I'm pretty sure wasn't there.
 
Your friend is a fvcking clown. Does he know how baaaaaaaaaaad that is on his liver? If you want to get high go to the source, doing it in a round about way like this is _incredibly bad_ for one's organs. A woman at mrsskoorb's surgical intesive care is in there right now for having taken too much nyquil (tried to kill herself) and she has basically blown out her liver. Congrats to your friend. If he does this every weekend he'll live to a ripe ole' age.

I think taking large amounts of any OTC drug can get you quite high. Sudafed? That pseudo-ephidrine in there can still do a good number on you. Theres instruction on the internet on how to purify it and make .. LSD (can't remember the drug)

Probably meth. You can't make LSD from pseudo-ephedrine.

Dextromethorphan.....this is what gets you "high" you have to drink about 2-3 bottles which will be followed by vomiting

no 2 6 ounce or one 16 oz bottle is more then enough, and i never puked when i did it

Not entirely true. Ingesting DXM for a trip ('robotripping') is perfectly safe. It's not the DXM, it's the other things in the cough syrup. Guafenisn [sp] induces vomiting and is common in many cough syrups. However, Robotussin Maximum Strength COUGH has DXM as it's only active ingredient. There is nothing else to f you up.

That's why I said go to the source if you want it 🙂 If this other stuff is pure DXM though and you're saying it's not the big problem well hopefully that's the case. Most medicines have a bunch of crap in them - like you wouldn't take execdrin if you're tired (for the caffeine, since you have to work all the Acetaminophen out too 🙂).

what he said ^^, more often than not you don't puke, usually only if you have another active chemical in there besides dex. the dosage is just like any other drug, mainly based off of weight, 2 bottles can put a fairly large person into a mild level 2 trip while 2 for a smaller person could launch them into a level 3 or beyond.

more and more people are using the cough gels, they tend to be easier to dose on, mainly becuase you arn't swallowing cough syrup 😛. i've done a couple of 800mg dex trips and have never puked, then again, i never saw a colum of souls either 😉

edit: what skoorb said too, if you actually are going to do it, you can order pure dex powder from research chemical supply websites, you'll get the same effects if your using dexalone or robo cough gels though.
