If they offer subsidized phone on grandfathered unlimited plan it's absolutely no brainer to sign up

Exactly,I've been off contract for 2 years, with a corp discount, unlimited, I could get a used Note 3 for this price near the end of it's product cycle in 12-13 months, happy to pay for the subsidized Note 3 and keep my unlimited data.

Tying yourself to Verizon for 2 years is not necessarily a no brainer. Though I guess the ETF could be offset by the subsidized phone price.

If you know you're not going to switch and you want to keep your unlimited data plan and needed a new phone, it's a pretty no brainer.

Of course, it entirely depends on your situation. There is no other cellular coverage besides AT&T at my moms place and it's EDGE there. She needed a new phone because her fascinate was starting to become unresponsive with the touch screen. So yeah, she was more than happy to sign another two years to get a $140 top of the line replacement phone.

She gets it delivered today. Hope she doesn't have any problems activating it and keeping her data plan.

Heard from WSJ today that keeping the unlimited data plan on upgrades recently was a software glitch but verizon would be honoring those who did before they corrected it.

Tying to a good network with unlimited data and subsidized phone is a wet dream. Sign me up anytime.

Well this isn't anything new, Verizon confirmed a couple days ago

Also, the gnex did go from awesome to shit in less than a year actually.

I think near Christmas, I'll wipe it completely and start from scratch, see how that helps.

GNEX does not represent all phones.

Yeah, I think history will remember it as the worst of the nexus line.

No way. That title belongs to the Nexus S. GSM Galaxy Nexus was/is awesome. Maybe CDMA and battery draining LTE radio ruined the Verizon version. One thing is certain. Verizon Galaxy Nexus is the last Nexus on that network.

My mom got her G2 yesterday. Didn't have any issues getting it activated and keeping her unlimited. Worked perfectly.

Glad I decided to throw in for the G2. She probably won't be able to upgrade her phone again for another 5 or six years. Best to get the highest end phone available, IMO.

I guess next time more people will take a chance on it, haha.

Agreed, forgot about that one.

We'll see the N7 (2013) on VZ, and I have this feeling we'll see the N5 on VZ as well, eventually.

Ooh yea me too lol. It was basically a galaxy s 1 clone with a curved screen. The GN wasn't that bad but it really started to feel slow during normal use. Imma keep it as an MP3 player in my car lol.

I really wish I had found out about this before it was shut down. Fuck.

It will put more VZ phones in the resale space, new and used, and with a slightly better price than before the glitch, just keep an eye on craigslist/ebay/swappa
