People are reporting that they upgraded and kept their unlimited. In the comments, people are reporting that even after they upgraded months ago, they still have their unlimited data listed although they signed up for tiered data (but previously was on unlimited)

I may jump on this and get that motox

That's... weird. And it sounds like it could go wrong pretty easily.

Dang. I don't have an upgrade available until 2014. (used my last upgrade to buy an iPhone 4S and then sell it on here :p).

I would have totally bought a 5S and then resold it.

Pre-ordered the Note 3 & kept my unlimited. Email confirmation says the same. No change to current plan.
Apparently this is some sort of unannounced promo. On the Verizon website it says something about limited time offers on upgrades and activations.

I'm actually really tempted to upgrade now.

Hopefully they won't screw anyone over.

Hope it works, just did an upgrade to a Note 3, interesting to see if they cancel it or jack with my plan (unlimited, grandfathered)

They may be seeing some losses due to TMobile & Sprint's "unlimited" plans, or just want to lock us back into a contract. Or it's a glitch in the matrix.

Hadn't planned on upgrading since I pay full price to keep my unlimited plan, I won't be too bothered if they cancel it.

Verizon will pull the pull quickly enough.
Apparently its been going on for weeks.

I might actually try this, well as soon as my father wakes up from his slumber.

I don't wanna give this up

So far so good. I ordered a G2 and picked it up an hour ago from the Verizon store. When I asked at the store, they seemed to think I'd get dropped down to the 2 gig plan, but I checked my account at home and it still shows unlimited under my data plan. Hopefully it stays that way.

Been thinking about this for a day or so, I have an upgrade available but I also have a $20 discount every month and not sure if I would lose that going forward with an upgrade...

My corp discount isn't showing up on the confirmation, hoping I can keep it, and it's just a paperwork thing, took a while before it too effect initially when I signed up, and I just proved I'm eligible recently.

You going for it anyway? Mine was from a promo way back. Not sure if would be able to get it again and $240 a year savings beats the upgrade.

Yes, there's a 14 day grace period in my state, but with a $30 restocking fee I think.

I bit. Upgraded my mom's line from a Fascinate to a LG G2. $181 out the door with taxes and upgrade fee. Used the Verizon30 coupon brought the price of the phone down to $140.

Guess this solves my issue of trying to decide if I should buy a GNex or a RAZR M for her.

How do you use 29+GB/month?
Tethering.

Yeah, I forgot what I was doing but it was large amounts of data.

I do remember downloading AutoCAD, Revit, and the iOS7 using my tether.

Damn it! I wish I'd known about this two days ago. I just paid $650 dollars for a new phone.

Do an upgrade, sell the new phone.

Also, I don't think this is a glitch, they would have shut it down already, they likely saw their numbers for the quarter and see this as a way to lock a large number of people into another 2 years of service rather than have a huge number of people able to leave at will. Not having customers under contract makes them nervous.

Sounded too good to be true anyway.

You know what they say: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is (with my luck, anyway.)

I don't think we're really going to find out what will happen to them until tomorrow.

As far as I'm concerned, better to have gotten the order in and send the phone back in case they decide not to honor it vs not acting on it when the opportunity arises.
