This is how we used to handle it back in the day. I miss the good old days.
1. Neighbor being an ass
2. Go knock on his door, when he answers, kick his ass. While he is laying there bleeding, stand over him and tell him if he causes any more problems that you will be pissed next time. This time was just a warning.
3. Go home and live in peace.
4. Profit

Reminded me of on episode of "Mad Men".
Party at house
Kid running in house
Man smacks kid, not his own, in the head and tells him to stop running
Kid's dad sees this and asks what's going on
Man tells him and dad yells at kid to listen to the other man

I thought you just locked them in the basement and added to your collection?

anyhoo, here's the skinny so far:

We returned to our place briefly on Friday morning to grab a few things and head off to Napa for the weekend. My bro's pal has a large mansion up in the hills, so we made a relaxing weekend out of it.

As we drove away on Friday, mental hippie was spotted near a truck at the end of the shared driveway for our units. Some young kid, maybe nephew, was loading a surfboard onto the truck. No glances were exchanged as drove away.

Landlord tells me that he and his manager were around most of that day and never heard a peep. He was back around 5pm yesterday and still nothing. (dude had the music blaring nonstop from ~1am last Wednesday to late Thursday/early Friday).

Apparently, the lawyer delivered their 3-day eviction notice on Friday, detailing the death and noise complaints. Also, the LL's seargent buddy was supposed to show up on Friday and deliver his own personal ultimatum. No details on how that went.

We'll be returning later tonight, hopefully sleeping in our place. We'll see how that goes. We checked out a new pad last Thursda;, rent is ~$500 less than we currently pay, so that would be good. Smaller, only 1 BR...and no mancave or back yard like we currently have :(

We'll probably be moving within the next week, after only 7 months in this place. Sucks....

I thought this too when we first moved in. But plenty of incidents since then have shown his personality otherwise. I know, completely anathema to the general reality, but this is one coo-coo wackjob.
