Apparently the Apocalypse starts in China

TL;DR:

1. Truck overturns and spills load of LPG (liquefied petroleum gas)

2. Car ignites the spill (fumes?) & judgement day ensues (note: Chinese news says no one died, somehow)

3. Off to buy a fire extinguisher for my car, brb

One of the craziest videos I have ever seen:

This forum is just a poor poor poor man's reddit now where old darts like us hang.

I can't even embed the MP4 because the forum software says no 🙁 And the Youtube versions are all too low-res!

With that many people, there's bound to be a lot of dumb sh1t that you're gonna see. That being said, I haaaaaaaaaaaaaate going to Chinatown because they are literally the WORST drivers. You're pretty much guaranteed a door ding if you park in Chinatown. Stereotypes exist for a reason.

Note: My wife is Chinese and agrees with me.

its on the liveleak page but no one died (yet)

truck driver severally burned, everyone else minor injuries

HOLY $H1T Kaido! I don't understand how no one died. I would never have gotten out of the car like the one driver and ran, unless of course his car stalled. I'd have thrown it in reverse and floored it and wouldn't have cared what the heck was behind me. I ain't running in a fire.

so did that guy open his door, let the mix in, flame got inside, he closes door, opens door, runs out on fire? or was he just wearing something orange?

Can't tell from the resolution. Probably a lot of things going on...car may have stalled from lack of oxygen. Plus fight or flight instinct in the moment = panic mode enabled. I'm guessing the fuel turned into an aerosol type of situation, which is why it ignited like that...if the drivers didn't actually drive over a slick, the heat from the engine could have been enough to trigger the explosion.

I've seen a few accidents IRL that were pretty crazy...stuff can go sideways so quick. It's not like the movies at all...a semi-truck's wheel can pop, someone can fall asleep at the wheel, someone picks up their phone for a second & crashes, etc.

im still amazed by that, in the orig dashcam vid it looks like the driver of that car gets out and is running down the road on fire

Granted, China's news may have covered it up to make things appear less bad. They're still a communist(ish) country, right?

ATOT: For when you missed Reddit yesterday. (TM)

Seriously though that is a pretty crazy explosion. LP is heavier than air so even as it evaporates it stays on the ground. Dangerous situation. This is why you absolutely never want a propane tank inside the house. If there is a leak it will pool at the basement, eventually get ignited by a pilot light.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I wasn't thinking and was taking a propane bottle into a local CVS to exchange for a refilled one. The lady began screaming at me from behind the counter to take it outside and leave it there. Then I thought, yeah, these can leak and I wouldn't store one in my house, so I politely said that I was sorry and took it back outside.

Well at least one of the drivers was smart enough to think "you know what, this might turn out bad so I'm backing the fuck up".
