Apparently, I don't know how to tie my shoes

Grr. I have pair of dress shoes that I like a lot. They have those "spaghetti laces." Really, really thin laces with waxy-feeling coating.

No matter how hard I make the knots when I tie them, they come untied as soon as I start walking. It's very annoying and uncomfortable as heck having to bend down to tie them 10x/day with slack, shirt and a tie on. :|

How do you tie these things to keep them from untying?

tie a square knot. That should stay in; otherwise pick up some of those thingies(ball shaped knot clippy things) they make for kids that keep the knot from changing:p

Well, double-knot, I know. Square knot? I got thrown out of cub scouts for eating a Brownie. ;) So, knots aren't my thing.....how do you tie a square knot? Does it come out?

Get the shoes that have the fake laces that looked like they're already tied, but they're really just slip ons

2 "overhand" knots (your normal knot) = square knot

basically you can do it by holding 1 string in each hand and doing this:

right over left knot...left over right knot

If you need an video tutorial - i could probably make one quick :p

Oh by the way

I think if you want to prevent the waxy shoestrings from unknotting, you have to keep the laces loose so when you walk you aren't pulling on the knot.

why dont't you just by some sneakers anyway? or at least some nice dressy shoes that aren't for dancing?

You know that it's possible to buy new shoelaces that might be easier to keep tied, and it will probably only set you back a buck or so?
