Ok im going nuts cuz i ran across a program yesterday that allows you to create custom Windows XP CD's

It allows you to totally strip XP to the bone, it also slipstreams service packs.
It also allows you to slipstream your most current and stable Drivers for your hardware.

now i swear i bookmarked the website but i guess i didnt.

Its a totally user friendly gui Interface and im just kicking myself cuz i cant find it now.

anyone know the program im talking about ?

trying to google this has been a real pain.

thats a neat little software also.

Its not only for Service packs.
from what little bit i read of the program its main goal was for total control of the installation via creating a iso with user level drivers and programs.

basically taking the aforementioned program but adding oodles of stuff to allow me to lets say .. slipstream my nvidia mobo drivers and my ATI drivers.
Maybe slipstream Office on to the cd and end up with a DVD.
the options are endless for what you can do.

man oh man lol this is buggin me lol.

ahhh found it
It's called nLite

wow this thing really has alot of options for stripping XP down to bare nothing!

the one my buddy made me with his tools he uses at work is less than 175 megs on the CD
and much less than a gig when you install it.

this tool you can remove minimum memory requirements for installing xp on a system.
you can strip out unwanted programs, drivers, and services. blah blah

anyone who ever thought about tweaking and getting rid of all the XP crap go for it this tool is awesome

185meg iso including nvidia and other drivers.
stripped all kinds of crap out of it and added some tweaks to speed everything up.
well let me see if it added my nvraid to the xp install so i dont have to hitF6 everytime i want to install

Nlite is an awesome tool. I've used it to make an unattended install of XP PRO, so if i update or want to reformat my pc its easy to do.

if you go tohttp://www.msfn.org/board/, you can make your self a really awesome custom install disc.

I used Nlite until I discovered the branding that it puts in... I just followed the msfn.org instructions and made a better one.

Been using nLite for a while (with win 2k, xp, xpsp2, 2k3 and now with x64), never seen any branding of any sort. The only thing I can think of is the default CD Label is set to WinLite (but you can change that by simply selecting the textbox and typing in whatever else.

sounds like an awesome thing, but what is this branding you're talking about?
