App Store

I'm wondering if you guys have started using the App Store as the primary way to get new applications onto your Mac. I've noticed that Dropbox isn't in there and the Evernote app is limited in certain ways.

I can see the advantages of using the App Store to keep apps up to date, but with applications having built-in update checkers, are there any other benefits of using the App Store? Maybe it's a good way to learn about new apps? I think I'll just stick to the old fashion way for now.

I haven't used it yet. Still on the fence about upgrading to Lion. My only concern with the App Store is if Apple decides to adopt the Walled Garden for their computers.

One benefit is having the apps tied to your account; you don't have to keep a local copy of the binary, so you can re download as much as needed (in the event of reinstall/failure).

Just type in "lite" in the search to list and try out a lot of apps for free. Be carefull however, not all lite apps are for free.
