App for useful daily info, on tablet?

My mother is getting forgetful these days. So I plan to have a tablet mounted on a wall, near the front door. She can easily see time, calendar, weather, and maybe quote or word of the day. Is there such an app for Android tablet that will display those? It must be on all the time like a kiosk mode whereby she can't accidentally exit the app. If the tablet restart for whatever reason, the app will auto start.

seems i cant find no apps.
so im building a website as seen here: http://dablet.com/tungpi/
it will have weather and news too.
with firefox or chrome on android tablet, there is the address bar though. is there a browser that will run as kiosh mode without the address bar?

What if you did it via widgets on the home screen? Then you could just hide the app drawer and/or disable most apps on the phone, and even if it reboots you'll be brought back to the home screen. No need to find a single app or deal with stuff like screen pinning.

now, i need to find if Android supports PIR sensor. would be nice if the tablet turns on automatically when shes near the device! :-D
