liberals are a feckless bunch, that cannot stomach being out of power and unable to legislate anything. they have no agenda of their own anymore, all they can do it criticise Bush, and in their delusional universe, they expect him to "come clean" and admit the Liberals should be back in power. Liberals feel they have better answers to everything because they are morally superior.

I fully expect a liberal to post here that they really are morally superior, and do know better, and that i am a moron.

i'll bet money on it.

Isn't that what the idiots on the other side say too?

If you are looking for evidence of arrogant claims of moral superiority, you need only look back to George Bush's press conference on April 13, 2004:

Several times he mentioned that the war offered a "historic opportunity to change the world."

In one of his most emphatic moments, he said, "I also have this belief, strong belief, that freedom is not this country's gift to the world; freedom is the Almighty's gift to every man and woman in this world. And as the greatest power on the face of the Earth, we have an obligation to help the spread of freedom."

that sounds strangely like this statement... is it "arrogant" too? 😉

"we hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal and are endowed by thier creator with certain inalienable rights..."

No.

endowed by thier creator were words specifically chosen by Jefferson because it
avoided such strong religious overtones as "The Almighty" in establishing the inalienable rights
to all beings regardless of race, creed or religion.

As for Moral Superiority, it is more commonly seen as a stance taken by the Religious right, and
a position that a good number of liberals would avoid, being too close to the definition of hubris
to pass comfortably amongst their peers.

Not only that, but I guess Jefferson was one of those "Christian hating socialists" I hear so much about:

"The day will come when the mystical generation of Jesus, by the supreme being as his father in the womb of a virgin, will be classed with the fable of the generation of Minerva in the brain of Jupiter." -- Thomas Jefferson (letter to J. Adams April 11,1823)
