Hello,

I am relatively new in computer modding etc. I bought a graphics card - Apollo 6800 128-RD (details: http://www.avadirect.com/product_det...asp?PRID=5849 ), but the motherboard does not detect it. That is, whenever I connect my monitor to its VGA output, nothing is displayed. There is no indication whatsoever on my computer (when I connect to motherboard VGA output) that a new graphics card (or any new hardware) is connected.

I installed it on an empty AGP port, and also attached the power connecter to it.

Please help

Aman Gupta.

My computer:
MSI K8MM-ILSR motherboard ( http://www.msicomputer.com/product/p...odel=K8MM-ILSR )
AMD Athlon64 2800+
1 GB DDR400 RAM
80 GB HDD
MS Windows Media Center 2005

is it fully seated?

does the onboard VGA work?

are you able to try it in another system?

Did you set your CMOS to look for the external AGP slot before using the onboard video? If not, check it with your monitor connected to the motherboard's VGA connector. Then, power down, and reconnect your monitor to the AGP card, and see if it works.

Good luck. :)

Yes, I have verified that many times, and I am sure it couldn't be better seated. And the PSU is Perx 350 W one. That should atleast run that thing.

Also, I tried to run on a friends' computer (865 intel chipset, 450W PSU) then when I attached the card, both onboard VGA and the cards' VGA did not give any signal to monitor.

I tried to find such an option in the CMOS, but there was none which enabled the AGP slot etc. Probably you can look in the manual (available from the motherboard link I gave you) and see if there is one.

Please help.

sounds like a dodgy Video card, have you tried another card in your mobo?
