Super Video CD format... fairly new, i dont know the specifics but the resolution is supposed to be higher than normal mpeg-1 (vcd)'s and alot more data can fit on one CD i think?

svcd is mpeg2 encoding at a lower bitrate than dvds, stuffed on a cd.

You can get some pretty bad ass vids this way. It can look really amazing stuffing 40-50 minutes on a disc.

There is no comparison to mpeg1 or even divx (since you can't play divx on an apex or other dvd player).
