apex 3201 49.99 after 30 rebate at Compusa 4/7 -14

I've heard that this player skips after a while on some dvds, but you can hack it through the remote so you can return it if it doesn't work. Some people's players worked, and some didn't. Luckily since it IS throiugh the remote, you won't void the warranty when you remove such features. If it doesn't work, set it back and replace it 🙂 (I've been waiting for this model to be on sale....been at 119 at walmart for a LONG time)

wait a sec...does this one play MP3s and JPEG CDs like the 1500 does? I DEFINATELY want THAT in a DVD player for my InLaws 😀

Thanks!
Tanner

I Paid $100 for my 3201 very satisfied. and the hack on the remote is so handy giving you a secret menu and all... Now I tape all my DVD rentals 😀 it does do MP3's but I do not know about the picture CDs (Jpegs) if you can get this machine at all it is a good price if you want the easiest hackable DVD player. I might have to go look into buying some more of these...

hack is availible search for nerd-out forums. they got lotsa Apex info... 🙂

<< Here is the player at CompUSA! Although they have it listed for $99? >>

Why would you expect it to be listed at something else? It's not 4/7 yet, is it?

Can anyone provide any source or link for the rebate?? I called CompUSA and they denied any rebate -- consistent with the website price of $99.99.
This is how rumors get started 😉

At any rate, Apex makes cheap, hackable players that will playback pretty much anything you throw at them (MP3, VCD, SVCD, CD..oh yeah, and DVD!)

Thanks

yeah, the 1500 doesn't say anything about JPEGS on the website, so I figure that since the 3201 doesn't say anything about it either, maybe they will have it too! 😀 hehehehe

so should we buy it and get a price adjustment later?

nm dont wanna lose 20 so ill wait for it to be 79 =P

man...and my receiver only has analog 5.1 inputs...anyone have an idea a way around this besides buying a new receiver?
