If you or a friend have a membership at BJs wholesale club, pick up the 27" JVC AV-27F703 for $299.99. This is a 4:3 flatscreen TV, and has component and S-video in. It also has 16:9 Anamorphic DVD Mode. I bought one yesterday.

Links to TV on JVC's website - Info - Features - Description

EDIT: Circuit City has it for $499.99. Do a search on 27F703

Croak, Not to crap on your thread but the regulars at hometheaterforum do not seem to think too highly of the Apex TVS. Sam's Club does have a nice 27" flat screen AKAI TV for $379.44 (a lot pricier than $250 for the APEX)

hmm, I've actually been looking for a 24" for my game room. I've been thinking about Toshiba 24AF42 ~$330 or Sony KV24FV300 ~$450 :Q. However, this TV w/ component inputs seems like a bargain and it'd keep my significant other from b!&#!ng at me for spending more $$$ on the game room. Gonna drop by BB later tonight to pickup Matrix DVD and take a look at this TV. Thanks!

I have this TV, and picture quality is great. Can't beat it for the price, in my opinion.

I have the basic mono 24 inch Apex APX 2402 and it's a nice basic set for the bedroom. It was purchased from Circuit City for $149.00. In my opinion this set is good enough if you just want something for your viewing in bed or for your kid's room. Has 3 A/V inputs and 1 SVHS input. If you have a Stereo VHS or DVD player, just add an additional surround sound speakers or receiver for that 5.1 sound or DTS sound. The TV is flat compared to comparable RCA models.

I have seen the JVC TV's at both the BJs stores in Stoneham, MA and Salem, NH. Not sure about nationwide. Might not be a bad idea to call or swing by if you have a BJs club nearby. Yes, it does have fixed level audio outputs.

From the JVC manual
16:9 Mode
This adjusts the dimensions of the film or movie you are watching so that the image doesn't look stretched or squashed together

I have not had the time to play around with the TV as yet

For an indepth explanation on anamorphic go here

If you have a Fry's near you, check the mid-week "One Day Only" ads.

They advertise many "loss leader" TV's at amazing prices.

Last week, for instance, I bought a Consumer's Digest "Editor's Choice" Samsung 32" w/ component video, 3comb-filter TV for $199. It's great for my bedroom............NOTHING can match such a price on a 32 incher! ;)

Boy does the Gamecube (w/ wireless controller) look great on S-video with this TV!
