One of my local Wal-Marts (Monroe, NC) had the Apex 1500 DVD Player on clearance this morning at 40.00. It was marked down from $99, then $79, then $40. I don't know if this is local or regional.

This may not be a clearance item since it was a big white sticker with a red bar at the top of the sticker with the price. Price marked at $40.00 which seems weird for a Wal-Mart clearance. It also had a red and white shelf sticker for the same price.

Also,
Lancaster, SC Super Wal-Mart does not have any either.

I love my Apex 600A and I wouldn't sell it. Love ability to disable macrovision and the region hack is nice.

The Apex 1500 is on the DVD-R compataility list and $40 is a good deal for those friends that you want to trade DVDs with. If available I will pick a couple up.

That is hot as hell. Apex doesn't produce the AD-1500 anymore. I saw one of these selling on eBay at $130. You better go to Wal-Mart and buy them out ASAP!

Yeah this is hot as hell for $40! You can also disable macrovision and make it region free. I picked one up back when CCity had em to complement my AD-600A.

My Wally doesn't have any of those 1500's. But it had a bunch of 1100's for $68.88.

Which is better ( 1500's or 1100's )?

That is not true, but good deal none the less.

However it is very close to being true. Seeing that all APEX DVD players I've dealt with actually had IDE DVD drives in them, this is a super deal if you're looking for a black dvd drive for a decent price. Personally, I haven't seen any non-oem drives for less than $50...but then again, I haven't been looking, so post your finds!

I checked all three of the local walmarts near me, none of them had this player. Though they did have the 1100. I was in circuit city and saw where they had the 1200 version for $58 something.

No luck here went to 2 stores. One had none at all, the other had one last one but it was a return with no documentation, remote, and the power cable was CUT OFF (somebody apparently cut the power cable off)! So anyway had them price check told me 79.99. So I asked if they could do a fairly signifigant disocunt for me as its rather bad condition (soldering a new plug be easy). Anyway the manager ofered me 10% and I walked off.

Almost forgot. My local WM had the TI-89 on sale for $100 in the clearance isle. They had 3 there and 6 in the electronics isle that weren't marked as clearance and were still marked $149. I also picked up a solar financial calculator for half price.
