It is the APC 350 VA and is in their newspaper ad from yesterday. I went and got one this morning. They were swamped but I must be the only geek because no one else was grabbing them up. $49.99 - $40 rebate = $9.99.

Not a bad deal plus I felt driven after Staples canceled on their ups deal a few months back......

I found it. The rebate is online under "computer peripherals and accessories".

This link is messy and may not work but here it is: rebate form

What's the difference between the 350 and 350C models and which one did you choose?

oh well - they are sold out now - 11/23 10:00am EST

I placed an order online to pick up, went there they said they had one left but didn't know where it was, they asked me to wait untill someone find it, i waited for an hour, and than i decided to hunt it down myself, i found two of them hidden in some speakers section, i came back to the same lady and i was like here i found it myself, one of the box was open but not used or damaged, and in joke i said don;t you guyz have an open box ploicy and plus i hunted these down myself and you guyz made me wait for an hour, so the lady gave me $10 credit, so after MIR for (2) i ended up paying 9.99 + tax for 2 awsome deal. by the way if u you in queens NY forget it they don;t have any left.

got 2 of these at the local CC (Tampa) this morning :)
It was crazy out there..... there was a huge line at the CC in Brandon around 6:45 am.
The most amazing part is that when we went to Best Buy, around 7:45, there was still a line outside with at least 100 people, they were only letting in about 30 at a time, that's nuts.

doesn't the 350 have a longer back up time? Something like 11 minutes as apposed to 5 that the 350c has?
Has anyone installed these and tested them? Would be very interested in peoples opinions of backups.

the rebate is right there on their website: click "rebates" then type ctrl-F and search for "apc." it is on the list and says the rebate expires today.

I have the 350 and it says it does 5 minutes backup, plus it turns out that my system (Athlon 1800, 19" monitor) were too much for it as I keep getting an overload message when I tried to install it

Umm . . .the model #'s are in the thread title. I got the BE350c. APC BackUPS ES Series, if that helps any. I am slightly miffed BTW - The website said 11 minutes and the product box says 5 minutes. Oh well, $10 is still a good deal and if it won't work for the server it might be useful for a lamp or something when the power goes out. :)

Being that most of the folks that visit this forum have newer computers I don't think this UPS will be enough for any of you. I'm not crapping it since APC makes great UPSs but 350 VA isn't enough for the standard 1 gig processor & 19" combo of components that a lot of people have nowadays. Hell my old APC BackUPS 400 didn't have enough juice for my PIII 700 & 17" FD Trinitron monitor. Had enough for the PC by itself but if I hooked up the monitor it would overload. My advice to you folks is to look for something in the arena of 700 VA or higher for a UPS. I have a Tripplite SMART 1400 UPS and it provides enough power for my PC, monitor, switch & DSL router to all keep running for around an hour.

Don't really need it, I just like having the extra cushion (I can continue downloads while the power is out :) ) as well as the fact that I got a good deal on it.
