Anyone know if the APC Back-UPS ES 500VA that Outpost has will support a 19" CRT and 1.4 Tbird for any length of time? Couldnt find this model on APC's website.

dpham00, the ES model at Outpost is probably a different line that your 350va. ?
The ES model there at Outpost is the small flat dark colored ones. Are they not as good as the taller white ones?
Their model #s/lines seem a little confusing to me.

Anyone using the APC ES 350VA? Can it handle it? Why is it so much smaller than the APC CA 350VA?

350 VA should work fine, The ad is for a 500VA though...
500VA will be plenty for what you guys want.

I have 6 of them at work.

I picked up one of these tonight from the Tempe Fry's. Being Fry's, they had to make it as inconvenient as possible.

There were a bunch of them piled in the middle of the aisle under a sign that said $54.99. The tags on the boxes still said $69.99. When I went to check out, it rang up @ $69.99. Rather than call someone, the checkout girl made me lead her through the store to show her the sign. After I did so, she wandered off to find a manager. I went back to the checkout counter to wait for her.

Ten minutes later she reappears. "I've been looking everywhere for you," she says. "I need your name and phone number to change the price."

"Why?" I ask. "Is this a special sale just for me?" The lady next to me snickers.

"Yep," says the checkout girl. "That [$54.99] price was a mistake, but we're going to honor it for you."

Whatever. I gave them my (100% authentic) name and phone # and I was on my way. They didn't print a rebate form for me (no mention of the rebate anywhere, in fact) but I didn't mess with it because I knew I could pull it off the Web.

Good ol' Fry's, you can always count on them to be as smart as a brick...

hmm...kinda confused at the outpost site.

link from above shows it at $54.99, $29.99 after $25 rebate.

I click on the add-to-cart.....now it costs $69.99.

I guess they meant price=$69.99, 54.99 after the 25 rebate......

Uh, 69.99 - 25.00 = 44.99.

I have a 350VA APC and my 1.4Athlon with 2hdds, DVD, and Burner overloads it all by itself. Freaked me out when I first hooked it up. Everything is fine til the cdrw/dvd starts to spin up :)

Wish we had a frys here so I could snag one of these.
