Apartment Rental Application

What kind of info is not appropriate to give out? Some applications look for Social Security number, Drivers license info, salary info and credit checks. Is it me or is this a bit much for just an application? That is a lot of personal and sensitive information.

What kind of information did you have to part with for your current rental

I'm assuming apartment rental?

Let's put it this way; they're giving you exclusive access to a very expensive asset. They have every right to be assured that you're able and capable to meet your obligations (financial, mostly) regarding that asset.

yeah..if they ask to see your tackle i'd show them...of course i just like showing people it but that's beside the point 😉

You like doing other things with your tackle in public too. :|

if you fail to provide required information, then the landlord should be suspisious of you and refuse to rent to you

Yeah, you pretty much have to bend over for this task. They'll request proof for any kind of grants, scholarships, or any other kind of income you may have. It's kinda like a quick auditing session for your proof of income.

Don't forget to read the fine print and be sure you calculate your expenses to see what they will cover and what you have to cover. A lot of places will also give bonuses if you sign a year lease, for instance, such as free electricity for the year. Check out hot water, water, garbage/sewer, laundry, etc.

They need all that data to do a credit check on you. I wouldn't rent a place to anyone without doing a credit check. You don't provide all the info=I throw your application in the trash.

Jesus, there was a lady like this in Hollywood Video that thought they should need to know her CC# nor where she lived.

Think about it.

#1 SS# to verify your CREDIT.
#2 DL# to verify YOU (any state picture ID is acceptable)
#3 salary to verify you can PAY

If you don't add up the app stops.

If they move you in, it's at least 3 months for them to get permission to evict you, then more time if you refuse to leave and they have to have you served and removed.
