Apartment Furnishing Advice

So I just returned from a year deployment yesterday and just arrived to my new home in Arizona.

Going to start apartment hunting tomorrow.

Basically I have nothing...nothing at all.

Anyone have any good advice for a noob on furnishing an apartment and anything I should know or would be helpful?

Looking into basics, mostly...bed, entertainment center, couch, and perhaps a new computer.

Queen to King size....

Big screen tv...

nice couch to enjoy the big screen on...

and a new gaming computer...maybe even a desktop replacement in case I get redeployed sometime soon.

and any good configurations as far as a computer and entertainment center goes...something along the lines of tivo and what not.

feel so lost right now...any advice on new tech and own personal experiences would be appreciated. =)

what kind of money are you looking to spend? if your trying to save some money craigslist.com can be a cheap way to pick stuff up localy.

i'm not sure if there is an Ikea around here or not. Actually, dont' know what stores are around here yet. Only the first day here.

I'm in Sierra Vista, Arizona if anyone around here knows any good stores around.

I really have no budget, have no idea how much any of this would cost. so, upwards of up to 10k? is that reasonable?

Looks like the closest Ikea is up in Tempe, a long way away.

From the looks of it you will most likely want to go up to Tucson for some of this.

might there be any good online places I could order some of the stuff i am looking for? not sure if any place does furniture. but if the prices are way off, i suppose i'll drive.

Your closest IKEA is in Tempe (aka Phoenix) which is a bit of a drive. It's probably the shortest distance (money-wise) between unfurnished and furnished. The ikea.com website has information on their products. They're not heirloom-quality, but any means, but they're serviceable. Perhaps you can find someone in a similar situation and rent a truck. If you have more money to spend and want nicer itmes, roomandboard.com is one of the more reasonable internet furniture retailers. The shipping gets to be reasonable if you're doing a large order.
