Apartment complex problem

Can anyone explain why our complex having problems with hot water between 5am and 11am, i think majority of people sleeping at 5am so thats not the cause. Is landord puts boiler in economy mode or something ( not too familiar with boilers). I had patience but it ran out. Now it became almost daily no hot water in morning hours. I registered my first complaint with city's HPD. If I dont get call back from management tommorow, I am planning to visit my public officials in district have HPD order emergency crews to fix the problem and bill management. Two month of hot water problems is too much

it could have something to do with the capacity of the boiler and plumbing. I know most people are usually up and getting ready for work at 5 and maybe the boiler doesn't have the capacity to handle everyone showering and keeping water hot.

How many residents? 5am - 11am sounds like an average range of time for people to be getting up for work, etc.

i dont know how many residents like 4 apartments on each floor except 1st flr and there is two sides so like almost 40 apartments. there was heat problems 2 years ago but never hot water problems.

i dont think its capacity since before it covered all apartments all of sudden every other day no hot water.

many businesses try to get away with using a large tank of hot water to get them through the day. The system will spend hours filling it up and keeping it at the correct temp. Once that runs out, nobody is going to get hot water as the system is inadequate.

When you say no hot water what do you mean? You have the water run for 10 min and not hot water? Also allot of people could be using it if they work far then they will have to leave for the work early. Also try this experiment sometimes, turn on the water at 4:50am if the hot water runs then let it run for 15-20 and see if it disappears. That way u will find out if it just around 5-11 or even before 5.If its like at 4:30 then there is a problem.

sometimes its no hot water like from 5am to 11am or sometimes there is hotwater for 2min than it dissapears for half an hour. but majority of the time no hot water at all

Filing w/ the city's HPD is a wise choice Wduaqnug, make sure you document all of your complaints that way if any issue arises in the future you have proof to back it all up 🙂 BTW, how's spunky? 😉 😀
