Oh server gurus, I have a question. On my laptop I have set up an Apache server with PHP and MySQL support. My question is this, since this "server" is set up on a Windows laptop, is there anyway to make the server behave more like a server that I would ftp into?
For example, I set the server up for doing some website design an testing on, but some applications I want to run/test don't seem to work or won't let me set them up and I think it's because they require certain files to have certain permission settings ie: 777, 644 etc. like you can do on a Linux server.
Is there anyway I can make my laptop "server" behave like its bigger, online brethern? Thanks,
j
