Apache problem

I've got RedHat 8.0 and am using the version of apache that came with it but has a strange bug. Whenever I want to access a dir on the server from a web browser I have to follow it with a / ie mydomain.com/mystuff/. I know this shouldn't be, how can I fix it?
 
Do a search on this, I know its been covered before (Ill try a search after I finish this post and post again with results if I find them). Which version of apache comes with RH 8? Make sure its the latest one in the tree you are using (1.3.x or 2.0.x) because of some somewhat recent vulnerabilities...
