AP US History Students, Regarding AP Exam...

Regarding the AP Exam (I have it tomarrow, Friday), and do any of you know what topic the DBQ is on, and also the two essays? As far as the DBQ, I've heard rumors (from a professor with inside info), that the DBQ is on Vietnam. Anyone have insight on these?

It's illegal to get info about the test before you take it 😉

I don't think anyone will know anyway though, because those tests are administered at the same time across the country to stop people from being able to cheat.

The subject of the DBQ is "Analyze trends in Abraham Lincoln's pulse rate throughout the course of the civil war. Expound on the causations of various pulse rates and how they correspond to key events."

lol...

All I can say is SAT II: US History is loaded with 1960s - 1980s questions. Maybe 75% were from that time period.

The proctor accused me of cheating when I took the AP American Test last year. It was kind of funny because we didn't even have any materials infront of us, we were all just sitting down. I later found out he always does it to someone to prove a point or something.

Anyway, I got a 2 on the test. I didn't even finish the essays. I wrote "There are 50 states" then laughed, crossed it out and handed it in with a big smile...

iirc in 2000 it was all about the 1960s...I do remember one question was on how woodstock influenced the culture of the time...or something like that. Basically know how to answer a DBQ and you'll be fine.

DBQ will be fine, its not that hard to BS your way through those even if you don't know much about the topic. What I'm worried about is the two essays, sucks we're the first year not to be told a time period on those

Yeah, I forgot that. The DBQ is easy since all the information is given to you. The Thematic Essays will make you cry...

yeah try to BS the AP computer science exam second part specially when your teacher has a college degree for PHYS. ED!!!

Hmmm...Thanks. I'm not worried at all about the multiple choice. We took a practice multichoice AP test and I scored a 90% (with no studying beforehand). However I am worried a little about the essays, but oh well, I guess I'll just have to cram!

If anyone knew what the DBQ/essays was on, it'd be posted on a billion websites and would be a major breach of ETS Exam Security. Not to mention that they'd take one point off of everyone's score. The only way you'd be able to know what it is beforehand is to live on the west coast or alaska/hawaii, and have a friend on the east coast text message you right after they find out what the questions are on. And that's assuming that you both can get away with having cell phones and stuff. Even then, you'd have like, 30 minutes at the most to study before you take the exam.

Anyways, i'm aiming for a 5, my banks of useless knowledge are going to be dumped onto this exam. My only problem will be the writing part, but if I do half decent on it, and get a good score on MC, I think I can pull it off. If only our exams could be based on multiple choice only 🙁

And am I the only one who thinks that they SHOULDNT tell you what time period you're gonna be writing about?

took the exam in 92. back then I think it was on WWII. I passed 🙂 didn't have to take crappy history classes in college yeah!

i got a 3 on mine, then i find out that i don;t need that in college, waisted money to take test, should have never taken the test.

Yeah I noticed history classes don't count for much in college. Just more credits that I don't need .. I figured since I had taken American history for 3 terms I might as well give it a shot.

I didn't know they ever did this but no, I don't think they should.
They did it...every year but this one 🙁

My teacher said if you get above a 70% on the practice ones, you're good for a 3. Did your test include the percentage right of those who took it for each question? Its ridiculous, there are some pretty dumb people taking the test, and I understand its curved...
