AP tests are absurdly hard

Just took my first one today, Computer Science A ironically enough

Wow. They upped the difficulty 3 fold from previous years. I had no problem with those. But this test comes up and smacks me in the face.

I must have left out 10 questions from 40.

People in the testing room were actually panicking a bit because the first question on the free response was absurdly hard, and nobody could think of the answer to the first question for at least 30 minuets. Almost everyone just turned to question 2.

Now to tackle AP Biology and AP European History...

Know what sucks. I have to read over a thousand pages of Bio, and over a thousand pages of European History by Friday.

I'm not sure why I'm on ATOT though...

I took that today also. Not that hard IMO. Coulda used some more time on the free-response but other than that considering I know pretty much no Java I did pretty well. 😛

Mostly it was just retarded/inapplicable and needlessly tricky questions, but what else is new... just because I can execute a "for loop" in my head doesn't really mean anything. Looking at other peoples' code is something I loathe. The whole thing shoulda just been free-response, IMO.

i got the same impression today
however i lacked time on the mc not free response
it seemed like it was pretty much testing attention to detail cuz most of the answer choices were remarkably similar

No, they're not.

There are very few difficult AP Exams.

the only one that i found somewhat difficult was AP Physics

Really? My answer to one of the long answer/page questions was:

"I decided not to do this problem as I am sure I got a 5 already (worst case a 4), so I'll save you the effort of grading this."

I ended up getting a 5. Then again I took it in 2001 so I don't know how it's changed--not like physics has though.

Just a preview of computer science reality - at any decent job you look at a lot of other people's code. When you develop applications with millions of lines of code - you don't write it all yourself.

like what someone else posted, if you thought any of the AP exams you took were difficult, you're f* in college. Unless you're majoring in liberal arts, or general studies...
