AP scores

Just got my AP scores for AP Computer Science A. Got a 4/5, fairly happy with it (since I've used Java about twice in my life before that). I still think it was too theoretical and fairly useless but that's just my opinion.

Post your AP scores (doesn't have to be compsci).

make sure you put your AP scores on all future job applications. It is widely considered to be one of the best predictors of an employees abilities.

Hmm .. I think mine were someting like this ...

1998 Calc AB: 5/5
1998 Physics (mechanical): 4/5
1998 Physics (electricity and magnetism): 2/5
1997 Computer Science (Pascal): 4/5

I was a huge slacker back in high school and never did any homework. Otherwise I would probably have gotten better scores and grades (and also taken more AP courses rather than just 3.)

might as well add in SAT scores if you want to infer correlation

1100 first PSAT score

1190 2nd time

1250 1st SAT

1270 2nd SAT

Calc AB: 5
Calc BC: 5
Physics B: 5
Physics C Mech: 5
Physics C E&M: 5
Statistics: 5
US History: 4
English Lit & Comp: 4

SATI for correlation

760 Writing
740 Math
700 Reading
2200 Total

Oh god. Don't want to know. I haven't gotten my scores yet. I know I did horribly on Com Sci, and I messed up on Bio. My essay's were too into the realm of the question, and I didn't explain enough.

I didn't realize I would have to explain Action Potentials in a question asking what the significance of being able to hear loud noises.

havent gotten this years yet..hopefully this week sometime

so far
AP Human Geog.-3
AP World History-4
AP European History-3
AP US Hist.-pending
AP Physics B-pending
AP Psychology-pending

will update when i get em

Nervous System much? Noob 😀

Well when i was in high school I got a 5 in all seven AP classes I took, twin brother got a 5 in all 11 tests he took. TBH pretty much everyone I knew in high school got nothing but 5's usually on between 5-10 tests, people didn't take AP classes unless they knew they were gonna get a 5.

Not sure what they say about inherent intelligence, probably not all that much, but they say ALOT about how good of a high school you went to since its the quality of the teachers getting people 5's, not that everyones all a genius or something. Like our AP chemistry teacher had 23/24 people my year get a 5, and that was pretty standard for him. I think every person who ever took AP comp sci at my school got a 5, at least the three years i know of and before that i don't think it was taught.

If you plan to major in computer science, expect a lot more theory. 😉 Discrete math is especially fun.

Seems like the OP of DOMINATION!!!11 is doing well on the leader board.

I agree with your general point on teacher quality, but AP Chem is hardly a good example. I've heard that the multiple-choice cutoff for a 5 is somewhere below 50% correct.

I only took two, but I got 5 on both. Calc BC and CS AB (?? whatever the harder one was called). Very helpful, since it allowed me to double major in college. In retrospect, I should have taken AP Bio and perhaps Econ as well. Oh well. And as mugs said, if you plan to continue CS, have fun in Discrete Math!

Been a while since I took AP exams (13 years to be exact), but mine are easy to remember because I got straight 5's (I was a big loser/dork in high school.... Ok, might still be now, but hey).

5's in

Junior Year:
Chemistry
physics B
English
English Literature
Calculus AB

Senior Year:
Biology
U.S. History
World History
