I've supported this liberation from the beginning, but this sh*t is infuriating. I understand these soldiers are in hell, but there has to be some level of moralism. International terrorism will only be stoked due to this kind of happening. I presume whether right or wrong these cases are limited. Nevertheless, these acts will come back to haunt us. These guys toting around digital cameras have opened Pandora's box I fear.

You know, you expect bad things to happen in any conflict(to think otherwise would just be naive), but this is just depressing 🙁

Winning wars are connected to political amd military careers. Worthless people will do anything for status. Worthless people are worthless because they feel worthless. People participate in the degradation of others because they feel degraded themselves. Status is a fools salve for feeling worthless because it hides but does not cure the disease.

It is inferiority that drives man to seek power and control over others.

Case in point: George W. Bush.

Even though nothing illegal occurred, yet you all seem to think its so evil.

Seems like they are all showing off to the camera.

Does every solider over there have a Digi now?

No way digi's can help the battle, probably only cause distractions. But the pictures are probably important to the troops themselfs.

Whats so infuriating? There is no wrong doing in those photos. Quit being so hypersensitive. OMG our commandos are not being senstive to their enemies' feelings.

Putting a glock to someone?s head for fun and good times is infuriating. Hypersensitivity has nothing to do with it. If you think it's about being a pinko, tree hugging lefty, I'm quite the opposite. Our troops need to tow the hard line, but taking these bs photos helps in no way, shape or form to further the goal of liberation in Iraq. There are legitimate means to handling POWs. In fact, like I said earlier this only stokes the flames of the enemy, and eventually will come back to haunt us.

They are not pointing the gun on him for good times and picture taking. They are shining light on his face for an I.D. shot. The Light is attached to the Gun. Also notice the gun's hammer is down and the operator's finger is off of the trigger.

Did you guys even read the article? It says that the military is launching a criminal investigation. They are doing this because they feel the treatment of prisoners in the pictures is questionable, it violates the policy of taking pictures of prisoners for purposed other than intelligence and identification, and it gives away the pictures of several Navy SEALs, which is something the Navy wants to keep as secret as possible because of the covert nature of their missions.

Did something illegal or bad occur? That's what the investigation is for, let's not jump to conclusions on either side.

I always just laugh and grin when someone's pointing a GUN at my HEAD, and I notice the hammer is down and the stupid dork doesn't even have his finger on the trigger, I mean...HELLO!...I'm so NOT terrified because it would take him like so many fractions of a second to make that gun fire.

What is so infuriating, besides the U.S. claim that we deposed Saddam because of like treatment of Iraqis, is the fact that the entire planet is watching and the picture they are getting of the U.S. doesn't coincide with the good guy image we are selling.

It takes years to build a reputation but only moments to destroy it. And Bush has destroyed America's reputation through his policies in Iraq.

Yeah I'm sure it would take hours for him to...put his finger on the trigger....

I guess he should of sat there and unmounted the flashlight from his pistol before the photo was taken. Give me a break.

Do we really need to debate this one particular photo? There are several others that are much more questionable.

Navy: Some SEALs photos show approved tactics - AP via CNN

Tuesday, December 7, 2004 Posted: 1:40 AM EST (0640 GMT)

SAN DIEGO, California (AP) -- Preliminary findings of a military inquiry suggest that some of the recently published photographs of Navy special forces capturing detainees in Iraq were taken for legitimate intelligence-gathering purposes and showed commandos using approved procedures, a Navy spokesman said. . . . . . . . .
