AP History and Psychology

I took the AP History test last year and got a 3. I know that had I actually studied the prep books, I would have gotten a 4 at least; but I'm taking the test again this year (but this time, without the class) and am hoping to get a 4 since my college doesn't accept 3's and I don't need this for my major so I'm really hoping to test out of it and get credit for this class. So can anyone recommend a good AP History prep book? My teacher says the REA ones are good but I'm looking for other opinions.

Keep in mind that I forgot most of the specific stuff I learned last year so I need a book that is detailed as possible.

Also, I'm taking the Psych test so I need a prep book for that too.

Where did you decide to go to school?

ya, i took it last year. i had the Research and Education Association (REA) book. it was quite good. it has a rainbow front cover and has 6 practice exams with justifications for every question. it even has sample essays written for the questions it asks.

i used it a bit, and did quite well...dont know if it was the book or what though!!

good luck...

here's another vote for the REA books. As long as you put the effort into studying and you can write a good essay, you should be fine.

So far, Purdue is my top choice. However, I did get scholarships from the rest of my other colleges so I still haven't made up my mind.

(BTW, will someone send the link of this thread to the Purdue admission officer so they know other colleges want me and so they would give me some incentive - i.e. scholarship - to go to their school? 😉)

Yup, that's the book my teacher recommended.

It's an AP test, it is out of 5. If you make a 5, you're doing damned good. Most people make a 3 or 4.

I'll be taking AP Physics next year and I plan to make a 5 on that test. 🙂

Gees I wish they would give me a scholarship, but I guess its kind of hard to get one when there are over 40,000 undergrads.
