Very happy news indeed---but I will only believe it when I hear the Allen concession speech.----I never rest easy when Rove is out and about.

I am now awaiting word on Senator McCain's promise to commit suicide if the Democrats take over the Senate. 😀

That's likely to happen right after Barbra Streisand, and the rest of the entertainment industry "stars" who promised to move out of the USA if Bush was elected president, actually do what they said they'd do.

I'm glad the dems got the house. But them getting the Senate as well feels a bit iffy. Why? Well... If we get a dem president in 2008, we might end up with a situation similar to what we've seen for the past 6 years, only in reverse, with dems getting out of control. Things have a habit of getting very unbalanced when one party controls all three. As we've hopefully all noticed.

From Fox News website: The Associated Press projected Webb as the winner late Wednesday, which would give Democrats complete domination of Capitol Hill for the first time since 1994, but the race is still too close for FOX News to call.

lol

Allen has unleashed the GOP lawyers to scrounge for votes. Haven't I heard the GOP complaining about this sort of thing for oh... I don't know, the last 6 years?

George Allen dispatched teams of lawyers and operatives across Virginia in search of the approximately 7,300 votes he would need to win.

With control of the U.S. Senate hanging in the balance, Allen did not appear ready to relinquish his claim to an office he once saw as a springboard to the White House. Webb continued to lead with virtually all of Virginia's 2.3 million ballots counted by Wednesday evening, but Allen's team clung to the hope that glitches or math errors might uncover new GOP votes.

Apparently in VA they use nothing but electronic voting machines, with no paper record, so there's really nothing to recount. It still seems stupid to me, but in this case I guess I'll take it.

Don, we use electronic voting as well.. and there is a paper trail that gets made before the ballot is 'finalized'. I saw and heard it printing and it seems to get added to a roll of the previous voters vote.

Anyone who remembers 2000 knows that elections are never too close for Fox to call, unless it's for the Democrats.

LOL honestly I dont know how anyone voted for this guy after the macaca remark.

I guess Indian-Americans are pretty secure with themselves and didn't b!tch a lot but I found it to be one of the stupidest remarks I've heard in years.

I wouldn't call it easy but I am in disbelief but that's better than being denial like the Republicans are

Listening to Savage tonight was priceless.

"It was not a Liberal Mandate" as if they meant to lose

If the Republicans can pull this one and the Maryland race out, they'll maintain control of the Senate.

Maryland is starting to turn Republican, right?

Last I heard, Santorum is rapidly catching up to Casey as well--Pennsylvania should be back to blood red by next week 😀

This has got to be one of the best, most respectful concession speeches I have ever watched. Kudos to Allen for taking the high road.
