Yes, all those dead are laughing also. They have never seen anything so amusing in their whole life.
".. And coming out of left field with a completely unrelated plea to emotion.. it's 1EZduzit!"

You know, how can mistakes be recitifed if the can't be identified? Some say Bush can't win on this one. That may be very well true, but that isn't an excuse not to try and improve things. He IS the one that overhauled FEMA to supposedly make it better.

Who's saying mistakes can't be identified? Who's saying Bush isn't at fault? I'm just saying that comments like the one you just made are trollish and childish in nature and do nothing to further discussion.

Do you honestly believe that the "lmao" comment by Genx was a direct attack on the plight of the Katrina victims? If not, why make that comment?

So how is an emotional plea wrong?? What GenX said is nothing but a trollish emotional plea also? Of course, your concerned about "fairness", not taking any particular side right??

Tell me another one.
An emotional plea is wrong if it is used to inappropriately redirect a discussion away from the current issue at hand. Let me paraphrase the flow of discussion and see if you can pick out where things turned sour:

OP - Brown is no longer in charge of Katrina efforts
You - Too little, too late.
Gen - *laugh* Damned if you do, damned if you don't
You - Those dead people in NO aren't laughing!
conjur - He's just showing his true colors!
me - WTF?

Hmm.. looks like there's a 90° kink in that pipe, eh?

And you really consider 'lmao' to be an emotional plea? For a poster who claims to be so mature, you sure tend to argue like a youngster. What's all this talk of 'fairness?'

CK, you know he didn't do his job properly. And I think you know he wouldn't be gone now if he did it right.

I think Conjurs point is its too little, too late for the people that died and lost everything in NO.

And if you can find one single thing I've said here that disagrees with that assessment, I'll buy you a pony. :lips:

so what do you want? keep him? just be glad they got rid of him.

you seem to have a double standard. the Bush administration is wrong if they do and wrong if they don't. they are trying to correct their mistakes, i will give them credit for that.

but the partisans here cant see that, all they see is democrats are always good and republicans are always bad.

I have a serious question...

If he was considered so unqualified for the job (only handling Arabian horses and stuff), why were there no objections to his appointment from the get go in 2003 instead of right now? It seems to me with FEMA being a pretty important organization that any reservations about his duties/qualifications would have been brought up years ago, and not just when a disaster strikes and everything goes to sh!t.

Got rid of him? Reassigned but not fired is what they've done. Maybe I missed something?

Lots of rubberstamping going on. The good ole boy network type of thing that goes on in ALL governments of any size (at least in the US).
