lmao

Damned if you do, Damned if you dont.

Yes, all those dead are laughing also. They have never seen anything so amusing in their whole life.
".. And coming out of left field with a completely unrelated plea to emotion.. it's 1EZduzit!"

You know, how can mistakes be recitifed if the can't be identified? Some say Bush can't win on this one. That may be very well true, but that isn't an excuse not to try and improve things. He IS the one that overhauled FEMA to supposedly make it better.

Who's saying mistakes can't be identified? Who's saying Bush isn't at fault? I'm just saying that comments like the one you just made are trollish and childish in nature and do nothing to further discussion.

Do you honestly believe that the "lmao" comment by Genx was a direct attack on the plight of the Katrina victims? If not, why make that comment?

If he honestly believed that his reading comprehension is rather low. The more likely scenario is he decided to try and portray my comment in a way that it clearly isnt with the hope of getting somebody to bite.

So how is an emotional plea wrong?? What GenX said is nothing but a trollish emotional plea also? Of course, your concerned about "fairness", not taking any particular side right??

Tell me another one.

Chertoff in his news conf.:
"Mike Brown has done everything he possibly could."

Well, you know, he's probably right. It's just that Brownie isn't capable of doing very much to begin with!

Damage control. Purely a political ploy. If they meant to do the right thing they would have fired him.

But, that would be admitting a foul-up or a mistake and this administration, as everyone well knows, is 100% infallible. They're like the Pope.

Or he's giving Brown a chance to resign.

Which is a cop-out move and still a political ploy to save face.

Which is what he is saying. If Bush fires him, then Bush is admitting a mistake, if he resigns then Bush is comes off clean. It's the administration where failure is ignored and often rewarded with medals.

The next election.

Didn't know Nagin could even be elected to be Mayor of a destroyed city with no citizens in it. Although, I don't think the city will be habitable before 2006 or whenever the next election cycle comes up.

There are no more citizens in it?

 Great. Bring the troops home now. ;)

There will still be the need for a mayor and local officials to take care of updating local building ordinances, police, fire, security to prevent further looting, and so on. Until they dissolve the city charter of NOLA, it's still a city, even with no people there. Those who formally lived there can vote through mail-in ballots or polling stations set up in the near vicinity.

Considering everyone is scattered to the wind, that will be very difficult to do, but not impossible I suppose.

As it should be . . . there's nothing like holding leadership accountable . . . unless of course there's someone else you can blame.

1. Bush doesn't admit his mistakes.

2. If people are doing a "good job," Bush doesn't accepth their resignations. Didn't this happen with Rumsfeld?

I'm going to repeat the same post that I made last Saturday.

It would be nice to see Michael Brown, the FEMA director, admit that since he has no experience and no one told him what to do- that he did nothing.

Depending on what stage of operations they are at this would be reasonable since he would be needed in the event of another disaster or emergency.

I'm just filled with confidence he'll be ready if and when disaster strikes!
Oh wait.....

Bring 'em home my ass. Ship 'em off to Iraq is more like it. Hell, they've seen action. These are battle hardened troops.

Shouldn't Nagin be sending them on vacation to Vegas first?
