AP Biology Test

To previous Takers, how hard is it?

I'm taking it tomorrow and I have a weird feeling that it will be absurdly hard.

Haven't taken AP Bio, but I have an AP English Language and Composition test on Wednesday I have to study for. I'm kind of worried because I can't really expect what's going to be on the test. With Biology, you have confirmed material to study for.

to tenshodo13: Biology is one of the easier APs to take (so long as you have spent time studying and memorizing). Just make sure on the Free-Response that you are thorough if they ask you to describe a process (Calvin Cycle, Krebs Cycle, etc.). I took it in 2005 and it went pretty well.

to Xyclone: English Lang & Comp is basically a glorified SAT I Critical Reading when it comes to the multiple choice. If you know how to do CR, you can do the MC. On the free-response, make sure you know literary techniques. I took this last year and it was pretty good, too

Know what sucks. I just know that Meiosis/Mitosis will be on the free response and those are the topics I'm worst at.

Kind of like how 90% of the Ap Euro test was on Women/women rights. I mean, why the hell would I study about the changing role of women in every single period of history?

AP BIO was the easiest AP that I took 6 years ago out of Physics, Calc AB, Euro, US Hist.

It was prety easy back when I took it in 1996, got myself a 5.

Then study it. There's plenty of resources in text and on the web that can help you. I remember that I was confused but I remember looking at some flash thing on NOVA (PBS.com) that really helped me the week before the exam.

Haha, compared to those, AP Bio would be the easiest! 😛

At my school, all the people who couldnt handle calc took stats. It was a wierd way of doing things. I wasn't allowed to take stats solely on the fact that I did well in PreCalc.

My school lets us choose. I took both AP Stats and Pre-Calc my junior year and AP Calc BC this year. Some kids take Stats and Calc AB/BC at the same time, while others mostly just choose one or the other.

all the AP tests are pretty easy so its no big deal really, esp. since you usually get a 4 and still get out of college. But I did go to a good school that taught to the AP tests pretty hard, so if your school does differently then you might not have been exposed to everything for the test which can be a b|tch. Just remember the same things like on any test, do the easy stuff first, then the hard stuff, you only need like a 60% to get a 5, so you can honestly skip entire free response questions and still get a 5 (I definitely did and I got 9 of them 5's 😛).

Economics was the AP all the stupid people at my school took, so I guess thats probably pretty easy too, although never took it.

US Gov was a joke this year. I barely learned anything in the class and even had 3+ months between the end of my Gov class and the AP to forget the material. It was still easy.

Too bad my school doesn't offer AP Econ, I'd really would have loved to have taken that one if it's easy. :/

Ap bio at my school is the science blow-off ap so i can't imagine the test being that hard.

anyone take AP Art history though? I have that right after AP Language and Composition. Wednesday isn't gonna be fun...

AP Bio test is ridiculously easy. You can easily get a 5 without taking a course and just skimming through a prep book.

Yeah, the AP bio test was one of the easier ones that I took, although it's probably my favorite subject. Just study hard, and like Amol said, be thorough when describing processes.

I took the AP Bio test my junior year of HS, in 2000. I got a 5 on the test, never did take advantage of it though. For how long after the test could you use that score as college credit.
