If you are looking for a solid Athlon 64 motherboard for a low cost and don't mind not having a board loaded with options then take a look at the AK86L from Aopen.

I don't like the location of the IDE, FDD, and power connectors or USB pinouts.

Seems to be a common position on the K8T800 boards, have a look at the Abit KV8 Max3 review here ,very similar positions.

Hummm...So here's some problems i can't fix with the Aopen.

1st: Cpu usage is always at 30-40%, regardless of what bios is used.

2nd: Mem scores in sandra with the 1.06q BIOS are at 1920/1920. I never tried sandra mem with any of the other BIOS so thats next(should be around 3050)

Deliximus over at HardOCP had the same problem. He said the AK86L didnt like his Audigy 2 in pci3. You can probably get more details if you PM him.

Funny, I have an audigy2 in PCI slot 3 also.

Going to try that and 2 of the other BIOS to see if the mem scores improve.

And moving the card to PCI slot 4 solved both problems. Thanks NewB.

FYI the 1.06q BIOS can be downloaded from the review page here, if you can't get it PM me and i'll e-mail it.
