AOpen 32MB Geforce2 MX + TV-out here for $36 + $9 S&H depending on your ZIP. Review here in flaky English.

Get a video transmitter from here (posted here yesterday) for $30.60 ($34 - 10% coupon) + $7 S&H and you can send your movies around the house. You may need a S-Video to compositer adapter though, I'm not sure about the connectors on either of these two items.

is this card any good? My friend has a voodoo banshee that he wouldl ike to replace.. this should do the trick for him for now I would say...

is it worth buying a geforce 2 mx even at this price? I know it would be quite the upgrade from a voodoo banshee, but will it last him more than a few months?

i think you're better off waiting for a good deal on the GF3 ti200. i think i saw a deal for $100. they overclock very nicely (most to near ti500 speeds) and support DX8.1 (as opposed to the lower end GF4 which do not which is total horsesiht)

<< how reputable is this place? >>

In my dealings with AxionTech I have had nothing but good results. I order from them for work sometimes. When the Travan tape I ordered failed they had a new one in my hands in about three days, no problems or hassles at all.

I trust them.

I just bought a case from them, everything worked out just fine.

I also ordered a case from them last Thursday night. Arrived on Monday in perfect condition.

this place is very reputable...i used to order and pick up from axiontech directly in houston. never had any problems, even when i had stuff shipped.

Don't forget you can get a GF2 GTS-v 32mb DDR for $48 I think at newegg.com.
I have this now at 200 and 170 (faster than a GTS)

It does not have S-Video though.

watch out guys, svideo to composite adapters arent that cheap. As far as I know radioshack didnt carry them andI went to a local dealer and got one for $15 but on the webcheapestI couldfind was around $30+ship.

Ithought so.... Maybe walmart has these. can anyone check?

i have a k6-3+ 450 coupled to a voodoo2. would there be any point in replacing the voodoo2 with the geforce2 mx? i don't really need the tv out since my computer's nowhere near a tv.

mr. jhu, try this. also this. good luck!

edit: but i bust out to laughin when i read "We've never really liked UnrealTournament as a benchmark, but at the start you can see that the scores aren't going to be very interesting at all." funny how things can change in LESS THAN TWO YEARS, isn't it? ummmph

Not sure, but I sure noticed a difference in the visual quality at 32 bit color when I upgraded to a Geforce 2 MX from my Voodoo 3 3000 on a PIII 600@744. I paid $109 for my A-Open Geforce 2 MX a year or so ago and recently reinstalled it in a Celeron 1.08 Ghz system, overclocked the memory to 200 and ran 3DMark 2001 at 2522. It is a very good card for $45 delivered, but the Geforce 2 GTS-V from newegg might be worth the extra $7. I guess I will just have to order one from newegg and see!😎

Bwaahhhahaaaha...If he's milked a voodoo banshee this long, a GF2 mx should be fine for quite a while...
