Not that this would surprise me much, but here's the deal...

try checking your aol mail (yes, I know, it's your computer illiterate mom's account and you just use it cause it's there ;)) using internet explorer, you might get an error claiming a temporary problem (my mom has been getting this for over a week), then try it with netscape, works fine.

I'm just wondering if anyone else matches my results.

Works fine in IE here, too.

You might want to check your security settings.

And no, I'm not ashamed I use AOL E-mail. It's my spam catching account.

check to make sure she has cookies turned on. Every once in a while I get a server busy or other misc error and a reload usually pops me right back in.

The sad thing is though, with a AOL account, you don't have to do anything for it to start to catch spam...it does that the minute you open the account ;)

she has cookies enabled, just like she did when it used to work. in other words, nothing changed on her system (as far as IE goes). I used to be able to get into the webmail on my system, i didnt disable cookies, and now it doesnt work. I get a "temporary error" each time, and reloading doesnt work either. Netscape worked as soon as I enabled cookies in that program, then I logged out and checked IE again and recieved the error message.

There's got to be something set wrong on both our systems (or maybe aol changed something that doesnt match with our settings, i dont know), since it doesnt seem to be a universal problem.
