I upgraded a friends system last year and now he says it won't boot. I check it out and end up booting the WD diagnostics disk. Diagnostic says found and error and repairs it. On the next boot the registry checker comes up upon boot and says that the registry has an error and is reverting back to the last known good config and I click OK. System boots and seems to work fine.
I decide to do a restart to go through boot again. Upon clicking ok for the restart AOL 6.0 program starts. Then I get a msg box saying aol download has stopped responding. After closing that and clicking ok for the password must be entered or something like that Windows shuts down. I have rebooted several times and events are the same every time.
Is this some kind of a software setting, virus maybe? Does anyone have any ideas? I have never used aol and never will (just add one more reason to the list) but that leaves me with little knowledge of the software.
Any help you can provide will be appreciated. Thanks
