AOL sets record in PC Magazine survey

PC Magazine's annual ratings of the best and worst are out. In the ISP category, an astounding record was set by AOL.

Readers are asked to rate their ISP in 11 areas, including:
  • Overall satisfaction
  • Initial setup
  • Rates
  • Tech Support
  • Connection during business hours, during evening hours, and during overnight hours
  • Connects at the highest speed
  • Connection reliability
  • Speed of page downloads
  • Email service

I've been reading PC Magazine for years, and no one ever turned in this kind of record. AOL was rated "Significantly Worse than Average" in every single one of the 11 categories for Dial-up, and in 9 of 11 categories for Broadband.

Oh, and about 33% of the AOL customers who answered the survey chose "Reputation" as the reason they chose AOL. Where's the logic in that?

Oh, that record. I thought the record would be most stock market capitalization ever lost by an ISP company. But worst customer ratings is a pretty solid lock for AOL as well.

It's AOL's marketing that allowed them to grow so fast. They've got millions of newbies who don't care for AOL but don't know or care enough to move onto something better. It's the nation's number one cesspool. 🙂

I'm surprised people that have AOL would complain :Q
After all THEY selected AOL

So, these people don't have any friends? 😉

Should make up a slogan...

"Friends don't let friends AOL" 😀

Hmmm think I could sell tshirts with this on it?

w00t, Optimum Online is one of the top two Broadband providers.

I'm happy with my cable modem thru them.
I'm happy with them too!!
They were the only one to get an "A+"

dont get me wrong, ive always despised (sp?) AOL and have not used them since the early 90s (free trials)... but alot of my non-computer savvy friends are pretty happy with it 🙂

I think it's alright for people who have no clue how to configure Outlook (Eudora or whatever) or how to "find" anything on the internet... my dad and my nieces need something like that, otherwise they'd be lost.
