Okie...i have emails saved in my filing cabinet in AOL.....I need to print those emails out...but since I have no printer...I must wait til i get home. Question is...will the emails in my filing cabinet still be there if I sign on at a different computer?

This is extremely important and I'm pressed for time. So I need replies ASAP!! Thanks all!

from my memory of aol 4 years ago, i think not.

there is a potential that things have changed in that timesapn, though

The filing cabinet is stored locally on your computer. It's not available when you sign on with another computer.

Go home and no worries.

Are you 100% positive? If i don't get these emails printed I'm in BIG trouble. Grr...what I would give for a printer right now...

He's wrong. The filing cabinet information is stored in the "Organize" folder of the AOL directory on your computer. You cannot access it from another computer.

However, you can copy the "Organize" folder to a CD and copy the files into the "Organize" folder of the other computer.

Actually, no since it's been awhile. Why not forward them to yourself?

I assume the mails you saved in file cabinet are old mails? Like the post above said, either forward the mails back to yourself, or maybe try to save all the files from your /America Online/organize folder onto a floppy and transfer them to your computer at home. I never tried the latter but it might work. Though best bet is to just fwd the mail to yourself.

Copying the files will work, but it has the potential to screw up the other accounts on the AOL installation when you copy the files over.

That said, I've done it a couple of times without incident.

Forward them to a free yahoo or hotmail account.

Well, there is always AOL's 24hr support.

I tried fowarding to myself....it wouldn't let me...saying something like..."this mail cannot be fowarded anymore" or something like that. I guess i'll try copying and burning...maybe...
