has anyone ever called up AOL to tell them to stop sending them their stupid cd's? am i within my rights to request them to stop sending me their crap? :disgust:

edit for mad smiley

If it comes in the mail, write "return to sender - did not request" on the CD mailer and put it back in the mail. AOL will pay the return postage.

Imagine if 2 or 3 million people did that. Ouch.

Ever since they've been sending these out in DVD cases and those really nice metal tins, I've been loving AOL CD's. I used to have to actuially buy these cases, now I get 'em for free 🙂

man...I request them...lol, I've been getting metal cases, DVD cases, but sometimes the cardboard ones too. I recycle the crap, and right now, I've been collecting the CDs into a box. I have about 400+ right now 😀 Will devise a plan sometime, and I would send them to the AOL cd sucks place, or whatever it is, but it'd cost be a hell of a lot to send them in the mail.

What do you use the tins for?

I have quite a collection of (useful) DVD cases from AOhelL . . . but have not figured out a good use for the tins (as they are so small).

That only works for first class mail . . . the Post Office just trashes everything else.

It was better when they sent floppy disks. At least you could format them and use them for something. For awhile, I thought nobody would ever have to buy them, again. 🙂

As an interesting side note for you electronics junkies, the world's suppliers of polycarbonate film have essentially stopped producing it, so capacitor manufacturers have stopped producing these caps, which are/were a very good choice for many designs. 🙁

Since CD's are made of polycarbonate, I thought a great business idea would be to grind up the infinite supply of AOL CD's and process them to make the film. At least you'd have a cheap source of the raw material. 🙂

There is some group collecting these, wish I could remember the site. They ask people to send them to them and once they get a million they are sending them back to AOL 🙂
