AOL Cd's are made better than earthlink cd's

I was able to bend an aol cd almost completely folding it until it finally shattered....i bent an earthlink cd a little bit, and it split in half. Is anybody willing to do this experiment over to see if I perhaps made any laboratory errors? If not, the results stand

AOL CD > Earthlink CD

Conclusion: Don't make your throne out of earthlink cd's

that is all.
 
I disagree. I did this with an AOL cd, didn't get too far before I got a shard partly lodged in my hand.

how long ago did you do this? perhaps they periodically switch their cd distribution office, or maybe they change the chemical makeup of the cd's with each version. Perhaps altering the chemical balance a bit, which could cause this difference in cd breakage
 
...I very seriously doubt AOL themselves (or Earthlink, for that matter) manufacture their own CD's. They probably cut a deal with some distributor/copier who burns their stuff for them on whatever they've got available. Millions of AOL CD's are sent out all the time - CD's don't fail often enough for it to really matter if a less-than-best batch makes it out the door when compared to the premium on the "better" CD's.

Then again, I probably know as much about this stuff as an autistic orangutan...disregard anything I said as "Voodoo is typing with a migraine" 🙂

Bah...misread that...lol completely missed "office" obviously. Rejoice - you're the first to officially pwn me 😛 May many more live to claim that title.

Re-reading that, I'd have to agree with you. We're supposed to pass them out with groceries where I work, though we never do. Perhaps I'll steal 7 or 8 hundred AOL CD's, break them, and see if there's a difference. Perhaps check the CD's for codes that might signify where they were made or what company made them...kinda like a stepping code for a processor (horrible analogy, I know).
