I've just bought a new AOC 9K+ (19" Pure FlatFace CRT). The "normal recommended" mode is 1280x1024 @ 85 Hz. When I set up this mode and viewed some photographs, everything looked fine; I was quite impressed. However, when I then went back to reading email and other text-based things, problems became apparent, the main one being that pixels in adjacent rows do not line up correctly.
[EDIT: Didn't realize that leading whitespace was stripped, making the example useless.]
It's not that severe, but it's enough that I couldn't stand to live with it. This is only in the upper half(ish) of the screen, by the way; the lower half is fine.
So, I tried changing the refresh rate to 75 Hz. In this case, the problem described above was gone. However, there was now a fuzzy area towards the bottom-left corner of the screen. This was not too bad, but enough that it might give you a headache after a prolonged session.
What do you think? Is this completely not to be expected? Should I return the monitor for a replacement? I started questioning whether I was making a big deal of nothing, but, the more I think about it, I don't think I am. I guess I'm just wondering if this is a manufacturing defect that others have seen before.
Thanks for any input or advice!
