That’s not uncommon in a working class neighborhood in NYC. The guy I used to go to charged $5 a cut. His shop was always full of retirees and veterans. It was a shrine to the people of the neighborhood.
He conviently has forgotten the conservatives attacking both Sanders and Warren for being in the 1%, oops.
Just so I understand this argument (I'm not reading all the days I missed) - elected officials should only be getting goods and services from shops within their districts? If so, do those shops need to only be locally owned (ma and pop shops)? or can they be chain stores and restaurants that may or may not be owned by somebody within that district. What if it is a small shop in their district, but the owner and/or employees work outside the district?
He just left out the part about it being 30 years ago.Bullshit on a substantial amount of dudes finding hair cuts at that cost.
Some yeah sure nearly everyone else no way.

I've known plenty of folks in life that say "I've been getting my hair cut at the same place for 15 years at $7 cut".... Not everyone goes to your standard chains where it costs $15
Reminded me of the old days where it appeared the vast majority of AT posters made $250k or more.
I did. Now it costs around $20.He just left out the part about it being 30 years ago.
No it’s devolved to no matter what AOC spends money on it will either be the wrong thing or cost too much.
I don’t care what she spent on it. I entered the thread and commented on her twitter response, and then a few posters decided to share their deep expertise on salon pricing. No it’s devolved to no matter what AOC spends money on it will either be the wrong thing or cost too much.
Are we STILL fucking talking about this?
In that how her poorest constituents view this. How is she not?

Has anyone asked her constituents about this or are you projecting your desires onto them in attempt to turn a non-story into some sort of outrage where none exists? In that how her poorest constituents view this.
I personally have no outrage, but if I were worried about feeding my children or a roof id question her words.Has anyone asked her constituents about this or are you projecting your desires onto them in attempt to turn a non-story into some sort of outrage where none exists?

Most of the leaders of socialism certainly did. Sanders is known for his humble suits. Warren for presenting as a college professor. Auto union leaders who did well for themselves would never drive their foreign built cars to the factory
Like most working class families, they use them when advantageous, but they certainly aren’t shopping at Whole Foods, assuming they even have access to one.
Regardless, I never supported this line of attack on her. My entrance into this thread was a comment on how she responded to it, which triggered her fanboys, and here we are.
I see on today's edition of Conservatives Approaching The Point, we have this thread. Yes, it's absolutely true that a true working-class woman is not going to be able to afford hair cuts that are this expensive.
However, it's *also* true that this is the level of grooming that's expected for professional women. The sensible takeaway is that this sort of barrier to social mobility is a bad thing.
In short, don't hate the player - hate the game.

How many haircuts would you have to do per hour to make a decent wage?
Quick haircuts are still 15 mins, unless you are a barber in the army just shaving heads.
Even at $15 plus top, those stylists at supercuts make wages that are considered working poor.
