i have an epox 8rda+ mobo that comes w/ 4 rear USB2 ports and a header for an additional 2 USB2 ports. i initially had some problems w/ USB drivers for windows xp and etc. as there is still an "!" under USB in the device manager even after driver updates. so i now wanna find out if the usb ports are running @ USB2 or USB 1.1. anyway to do that?

When installing the drivers you have to install SP1 first then the nvidia driver package. Otherwise usb 2.0 will not work.
Go to usb.org there's some software in the developer tools section.

Use the Epox cd to install the USB 2.0 driver. I had to do so on my NF7-S before I gained USB 2.0 support.

Lots of good comments and advice on your situation, but no one answered your main question (thread title.)

The answer is yes, but it requires special hardware.

Use whatever device on 2 computers, one with USB1 and on your machine, see if it's faster. Not scientific, but might give some indication.

I remeber seeing an online test somewhere. But forgot what manufacturers page it was from.
